Abstract or Relate-able?

“Fashion in the Metro,” Paris, Jours de France, 1958.
You might not think this is very abstract by today's standards. However, in 1958, this piece, "Fashion in the Metro," was a little abstract because it is relate-able. Unlike much of the sophisticated and unique photographs in fashion at that time, this is very casual. Even though it is casual, it is relate-able, which I think is a huge element in fashion photography that is needed. As much as I love looking fashion photography and feeling like I'm in a new reality, I love it when I get an opportunity to analyze and apply it to my life, in some way. This is why I love this photo. Plus, their hats are cool.
